JOIN US FOR NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING/ CHESTFEEDING WEEK
Hi, Yinzers! Jessica Thomas and Kate Csallner of Pittsburgh Born Photography here. We are both photographers in the Pittsburgh area specializing in birth, maternity, parenthood, and newborn photography. Our passion with our particular set of skills is to empower families in their journey into parenthood.
In 2018 we dreamed of photographing a bunch of breastfeeding Pittsburgh parents and their little ones on the Andy Warhol big yellow bridge. We planned, executed, and the result was EPIC! Then again, in 2019, we moved to Point State Park and had even more families participate. Covid dramatically altered our plans in 2020, and we had to take the year off. Still, we returned strong in 2021 when we photographed breastfeeding parents at Color Park. In 2022 we gathered at the Water Steps in Northshore. We love doing this for our community, so please join us again or for the first time for another epic photographic moment in our beautiful city of Pittsburgh! Let’s make this year’s photo EVEN BIGGER!!

WHAT IS IT?
An invasion of awesome Pittsburgh parents in an epic group-feeding photo opportunity in our city! We want to celebrate and empower any parent of the Burgh, even others in different parts of the country.
WHEN IS THE EVENT?
Saturday, July 29th at 6PM at Melon Park. Please plan around nap and bedtimes to make an exception for this event. Mini Sessions will take place before and after the group photo. The mini-sessions have gone incredibly quickly in the past, so please do not hesitate to sign up for those.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR TO PARTICIPATE?
We are looking for parents in and around Pittsburgh who are currently breastfeeding, chestfeeding, or using any form of human milk to give their children. We recognize that it looks different for every family, so exclusive pumpers, part-breastfed, part-formula feeders, tube feeders, etc., are welcome. We aim to attract all forms of parenthood, children's ages, and diversity. We welcome all genders, trans and non-binary parents, races, orientations, and ways of life.
WHY DO THIS?
Because it's really awesome! Because it empowers people to feel confident in feeding their babies in public places without fear. Because we like to celebrate YOU.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
Every participant will receive a digital copy of the group photo!
COST:
$0 for the group portion! We want as many people to participate without the stress of a fee and, like all parents, regardless of their financial situation, to have equal opportunity to participate in our event.
We will have mini-breastfeeding/chestfeeding sessions before and after the group portion for a one-time-only price of $100 for 5 edited digital photos you get to pick with print-release. Additional images can also be added for an additional fee when your gallery is available. We are asking for full payment at the time of booking. We will give you the info to pay via Venmo (if you need a different payment method, reach out). Due to the limited availability, these mini-sessions are non-refundable (unless we can fill your slot via the waitlist).
IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING A MINI-SESSION SLOT:
We understand that sometimes babies and toddlers do not always want to feed on command, which is okay. We work with what we can get! But if you are signing up for these sessions, it is important to understand this is NOT a family mini-session. This is a time to celebrate you and your individual child's feeding journey, so come prepared to do that. Please, no siblings who are not currently feeding. If you are tandem feeding, you are more than welcome to have your older child join!
